The least important page(?)
The most important skill a web professional can bring
to you is the business and creative skills to produce a website
that is right for you, your business and its customers.
You may not be interested in how this is done as
long as the end is achieved. Alternatively the technical side may
in fact be of importance, for whatever reason. What does
not happen is that your specification
is sent to the Ukraine or some far flung place to be assembled
by one of the many outsourcing options that are now available to
and used by many web design agencies.
Occasionally you might want something which in fact
demands a particular skill. For example, you may want to
upload images to your webpage yourself (that I can set upfor you)
but also you may wish for those images to be automatically resized
to a particular specification for the web page. This is normally
something that you would do on your own software before loading
the image but it is possible to place some software on the server
to do this for you. This would be done for me by one of the small
network of local IT consultants that I occasionally call on to
supplement my core business and design skills.
In fact there may be things that you want to happen
on the web that you regard as impossible - try me - I may or may
not be able to do it myself but if it can be done then working
with my contacts I will be able to make it happen.
